This itinerary is specially crafted for trekkers who want to experience both the classic Annapurna Sanctuary and the breathtaking sunrise view from Poonhill in a shorter timeframe. As you journey through the lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and charming mountain hamlets, you’ll be treated to panoramic vistas of snow-capped giants like Annapurna South, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, and Hiunchuli.

Beginning from Nayapul, the trail winds through the bustling village of Tikhedhunga and the famed viewpoint of Poonhill, offering magical sunrise views over the Himalayas. The trek then continues deep into the heart of the Annapurna region, through bamboo groves and alpine landscapes, eventually reaching the spectacular amphitheater of Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. This immersive journey blends natural beauty, cultural encounters, and Himalayan serenity, all within just eight days. Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, where the trekking adventure officially kicks off. You’ll walk through charming villages like Birethanti and Hille, crossing suspension bridges and passing lush green hills and terraced farmlands. The walk is gentle and offers a beautiful introduction to the Annapurna region.

Upon reaching Tikhedhunga, you’ll feel immersed in the tranquil countryside with the sound of river streams and birdsong. This is a relatively easy day to ease into the trek, setting the pace for the days to come.

This day involves a steady uphill climb, starting with the famous 3,200 stone steps leading to Ulleri. As you ascend, you'll pass through dense rhododendron and oak forests, especially vibrant during spring bloom. The majestic Annapurna and Hiunchuli peaks will start peeking through the trees.

Arriving in Ghorepani offers a panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. The village is perched high on a ridge and provides a perfect base for the sunrise hike to Poonhill the next morning.

Wake up before dawn for the iconic sunrise hike to Poonhill. At 3,210 meters, you’ll witness a breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges lit by golden morning light. It’s one of the most photographed moments in the Himalayas.

After breakfast in Ghorepani, the trek continues through rhododendron forests and winding trails to Tadapani. Keep your eyes open for langurs and exotic birds along the way. Tadapani offers stunning sunset views and a peaceful forested atmosphere.

Today’s trail descends through dense forest, leading to the peaceful village of Chuile and then to the Kimrong Khola river. After crossing the bridge, you’ll ascend towards the ridge before reaching Chhomrong, a large Gurung village perched on a hillside.

Chhomrong is a major checkpoint for trekkers heading toward the Annapurna Sanctuary. You'll enjoy fantastic views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fishtail) towering above the village.

From Chhomrong, descend to the river and climb back up to Sinuwa, then continue through a peaceful forested trail to Bamboo and Dovan. The trail gradually enters the narrow Modi Khola valley, becoming cooler and denser with vegetation.

The serene forest walk with occasional waterfalls and the sound of river rapids gives a mystical feel. Himalaya is a peaceful overnight stop surrounded by forest and rocky cliffs, preparing you for the high-altitude approach to ABC.

This is the most anticipated day of the trek. You’ll ascend past the sacred Machapuchare Base Camp, where the valley opens up into the stunning alpine basin known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. The panoramic views get increasingly dramatic as you approach ABC.

Reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters feels like stepping into a mountain amphitheater, surrounded by giants like Annapurna I, South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare. Watch the sunset glow on the snow-capped peaks – a truly unforgettable experience.

After enjoying a final morning view from ABC, begin your descent along the same trail. You’ll retrace your steps past MBC, Deurali, and through the lush forested path to Bamboo. The descent feels easier but requires caution, especially on stone steps.

The drop in altitude brings warmer air and renewed energy. Bamboo is a quiet rest stop surrounded by dense vegetation and provides a refreshing contrast to the alpine terrain of the previous day.

The trek continues from Bamboo to Chhomrong and descends steeply to Jhinu Danda. This village is famous for its natural hot springs located 20 minutes downhill near the Modi Khola – perfect for soaking tired muscles.

After lunch and a relaxing dip, you’ll board your jeep and drive back to Pokhara. The drive brings you full circle, ending the trek with cherished memories of Himalayan landscapes, culture, and adventure.

Price Inclusion

  • All ground transportation from Pokhara to Nayapul and return from Jhinu Danda is included.
  • Trekking accommodation is provided in standard teahouses on a twin-sharing basis.
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included during the trekking days.
  • A licensed English-speaking trekking guide and porter (1 porter for every 2 trekkers) will accompany you.
  • All necessary permits such as the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card are included.

Price Exclusion

  • Personal travel insurance covering medical emergencies, accidents, and evacuation is not included.
  • International and domestic flights, as well as Nepal visa fees, are not part of the package.
  • Extra accommodation and meals in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after the trek are excluded.
  • Snacks, beverages, bottled water, and alcoholic drinks during the trek are at your own expense.
  • Personal expenses such as hot showers, Wi-Fi, device charging, and laundry are not covered.
  • Optional activities like sightseeing or adventure sports in Pokhara are not included.
  • Tips for the guide and porter are not included but are highly appreciated.
