Itinerary
You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest and acclimatize after your international flight. In the evening, you may take a short walk around the nearby Thamel area to get a feel of the city and its vibrant atmosphere. Your tour guide will provide a briefing about the upcoming Central Tibet sightseeing and Everest Base Camp trek, including important travel tips and safety instructions. Overnight stay will be at a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu.
On the second day, you will explore the cultural and spiritual highlights of Kathmandu. The day begins with a visit to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples in Nepal, followed by a visit to the majestic Boudhanath Stupa, a center of Tibetan Buddhism. You can also explore nearby monasteries and local markets to experience the vibrant Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. In the afternoon, time is allocated for preparation, checking trekking gear, and completing necessary paperwork or permits for your Tibet and Everest Base Camp journey. Overnight stay will be at your hotel in Kathmandu.
On Day 3, you will take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest and acclimatize to the higher altitude. In the afternoon, you can take a short walk around the hotel area or nearby streets to gently adjust to the altitude. Your guide will provide an overview of the sightseeing schedule in Lhasa and essential tips for traveling in Tibet. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a comfortable hotel in Lhasa.
On Day 4, you will explore the cultural and historical highlights of Lhasa. The day begins with a visit to the iconic Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama, followed by a visit to the sacred Jokhang Temple, considered the spiritual heart of Tibet. You will also stroll around Barkhor Street, experiencing the vibrant local market and traditional Tibetan life. The day offers a deep insight into Tibetan culture, religion, and architecture. In the evening, return to your hotel in Lhasa for dinner and overnight stay.
On Day 5, you will embark on a full-day excursion outside Lhasa. The journey takes you to the stunning Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s most beautiful turquoise lakes, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and traditional Tibetan villages. After enjoying the serene landscape and taking photographs, you will visit Pelkor Chode Monastery, an important spiritual and historical site known for its unique architecture and religious significance. In the evening, return to Lhasa for dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
On Day 6, you will take a morning flight from Lhasa back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and some rest after the flight. The afternoon can be spent at leisure, exploring local markets or relaxing at the hotel. Your guide will provide a briefing on the upcoming Everest Base Camp trek, including trekking routes, altitude considerations, and essential preparations. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu.
On Day 7, you will take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m), the starting point of the Everest Base Camp trek. Upon arrival, you will meet your trekking guide and porter team and begin your trek to Phakding, which typically takes 2–3 hours along scenic trails following the Dudh Koshi River. Enjoy the beautiful Himalayan landscapes and suspension bridges along the way. Overnight stay will be in a cozy teahouse in Phakding, where you can rest and prepare for the next day’s trek.
On Day 8, you will continue your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), the bustling Sherpa town and gateway to the Everest region. The trek typically takes 6–7 hours, passing through small villages, prayer flags, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way, you may catch your first views of towering Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival in Namche Bazaar, you can explore the local market and acclimatize to the higher altitude. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a teahouse in Namche Bazaar.
On Day 9, your trek continues from Namche Bazaar toward Dingboche, with a stop at Tengboche Monastery, one of the most important spiritual sites in the Khumbu region. The trek takes approximately 6–7 hours, offering spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and other Himalayan peaks along the way. At Tengboche, you can visit the monastery and experience its serene atmosphere before descending toward Dingboche (4,360 m), where you will spend the night in a teahouse, preparing for the higher altitudes ahead.
On Day 10, you will trek from Dingboche toward Gorak Shep, passing through Lobuche along the way. The trek takes approximately 7–8 hours, gradually ascending to higher altitudes. From Gorak Shep, you will continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. After spending time at the base camp for photos and exploration, you will return to Gorak Shep for overnight stay in a teahouse, resting and acclimatizing for the next day’s early morning climb to Kala Patthar.
On Day 11, you will wake up early for a sunrise hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m), which offers panoramic and iconic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the sunrise and taking photographs, you will descend back to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then continue trekking down to Pheriche for overnight stay. The descent allows your body to adjust to lower altitudes gradually, and the teahouse in Pheriche provides a comfortable resting spot for the night.
On the final day of your trek, you will trek from Pheriche back to Lukla, which typically takes around 6–7 hours, passing through familiar trails and enjoying the last views of the Himalayan landscapes. Upon reaching Lukla, you will board a domestic flight back to Kathmandu. After arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest and freshen up. This concludes the main itinerary of your tour, with an optional evening to explore Kathmandu or relax before your international departure the following day.
